News and Events

Fall and Early Winter 2011
In preparation for the cold winter we have given warm items to a homeless shelter in New York city and an orphanage in Romania. We also gave caps to chemo patients in Orange County, CA. Other local recipients we gave to are young children in need in San Diego, Orange County and Riverside; the last two will serve as Christmas presents for the young children. 

Summer 2011
To start off this summer we donated crochet scarves and beanies to Kenya and Uganda thanks to a missions team from Mariners Church in Orange County, CA. We also donated warm clothing to children in Ukraine thanks to Kids Around the World in preparation for their freezing winter. We also once again donated to Uganda through UTOUCH, as well as Malawi. A missionary in Mendoza, Argentina, where it is currently winter, will be passing out warm knit items to the local people in need. We also gave to warm items to an orphanage in South Africa, as well as various items to a homeless shelter in Maui. 

May 2011 
This month we have given to Nicaragua, the Navajo Indians, and children in Rwanda. We would like to thank Kids Around the World for taking the beanies to Nicaragua, and Kids Play International for once again taking our knit items to the adorable children in Rwanda. 

March and April 2011

Thanks to students from the University of California, Irvine going abroad through brigades programs, we were able to donate knitted caps to children in Honduras, and Panama. McLean Bible Church in Virginia took knit beanies to Brazil. We also gave knit hats to support our troops in Afghanistan. Students from Azusa Pacific University going on a mission trip received knit scarves and beanies to give to children in Kenya. We also donated a variety of items to the Orangewood Children's Foundation in Orange County, CA for the county's foster kids. The Japanese earthquake and tsunami last month left the country in devastation, so we gave knit scarves, blankets and caps that volunteers through Calvary Chapel church will pass out to the people in need. 

January and February 2011 
This has been an exceptionally cold winter all over the United States. We gave donations of knit and crochet scarves, beanies, sweaters, and blankets to warm up people in homeless and women's shelters in Chicago, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. Abroad we donated items to Nepal, Hungary, and Liberia.

November and December 2010

We donated scarves, caps, and blankets to children in Nepal and Kentucky to stay warm this winter. We also gave baby blankets, hats, scarves, and crochet purses and sweaters to poor families in Riverside and Orange County, California as Christmas presents. An armory recently opened in Santa Ana, California for the cold months, so we gave them hand-made items to keep warm. 
 

Latin and South America 2010 
A donation of hand-knit dolls, pouches, scarves and beanies to Ecuador made this the eighth country outside the U.S. and the fourth continent we have donated to. We also donated scarves and beanies to Haiti through two more organizations. 

Africa in Spring and Summer 2010 
We donated hand-knit and crochet beanies to children in an orphanage in Rwanda through Kids Play Int'l. We also gave beanies to Uganda through UTOUCH, as well as hand knit scarves and beanies to Ethiopia. 

California from March to September 2010
We donated knit and crochet scarves and beanies to homeless people in Laguna Beach, CA and the Bay Area. We also donated caps to children with cancer and other illnesses in Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. 

November through January 2009-2010
During this time we donated hand-made scarves and hats to homeless and impoverished kids and adults in Laguna Beach, Los Angeles, Chicago, IL and Eugene, OR. We also donated to Russia and Belgium thanks to Biola University students going on missions trips abroad. We gave beautifully crochet blankets to Haiti following the devastating earthquake they had.

 Holiday Gifts
 During the Christmas season of 2008 and 2009, we donated scarves, beanies, and blankets to children and adults staying in homeless shelters in downtown Los Angeles. We also donated knit beanies to children in the Children's Hospital of Orange County who have cancer or other illnesses. Through the organization, StandUp For Kids, we were also able to donate items to homeless youth in Louisville, KY and Seattle, WA.
