Knit With Love was founded by Lindsay Baxter as a high school student in Orange County, California. I learned to knit at a young age, so I built up a large inventory of scarves and beanies, but living in a warm climate I didn't have much use for them. Giving my first knit beanie to my grandmother going through chemotherapy, and seeing how much happiness it brought her was a main reason for starting this charity. I decided to go to downtown Los Angeles a few days before Christmas in 2008 to pass out knitted items to the local homeless people. Seeing how much appreciation there was for these simple items, I was inspired to continue on with this. Since then Knit With Love has donated over 1,400 items to people in need in twenty-six countries. We have donated items to homeless, impoverished and sick people all over the world.
